"See you fly"

My absence from posting is long stretched and an article is certainly overdue; however, my time was well spent.

I am recently married and in preparation for the big day, I wanted to sing my bride a new original composition, a song that I wanted to play both live for her with just voice + guitar, and one that would go through complete production via Tinto Records! This was a surprise (thus could not be posted earlier). Now that I have performed the song, the production version is underway and will be posted later.

Guitar + wedding band

With romantic songs, I often struggle to convey my message without stepping too deep into pop cheesiness. Carlos Gardel’s “El día que me quieras” is an example of romance, for me, that does not dip into the cheese!

With some help from my friend and music prof Mike Finkel here is my song to my bride:

“See You Fly”

I remember first seeing your eyes
And first believing in your dreams
This is my trip in front of me
I couldn’t wait to find out more

I remember sharing our fears
And you now saw into my eyes
I’m on board this adventure
I’m not afraid to give my all

I believe it’s your destiny to shine
And my fortune to be at your side
Be your missing puzzle piece
Your hand will fit into mine

I want to see you fly
I always believed you’d soar
Let me be the blue, the air
Together there’s no horizon (bis)

I remember first seeing your eyes
And first believing your dreams
This is our trip in front of us
I can’t wait to find out more

Tomorrow we’ll build our home
Brick by brick we will surpass our goals
Our future is our joy
Tomorrow has no ends

Possible video clip coming up! Also, watch for link to production version!
